Asset Record

An asset record is organized into three primary sections:

  • Asset Properties: Contains key details about the asset, such as type, location, status, and custom fields.

  • Mini-Map Widget: Displays the asset's geographic location on an interactive map for spatial context and navigation.

  • Event Grid: Lists all associated events, inspections, and activities linked to the asset.


Asset Properties

Each asset includes standard and custom fields. The custom properties that you see on a per asset class basis will change. For example, the properties visible for a valve will differ from the visible properties of a pipe. Despite these differences, your interaction with the properties will remain the same.

Key standard fields include:

  • Name: Unique identifier or descriptive title.

  • Life Cycle: Status, such as Active, Proposed, or Retired

  • Owned By: Department or responsible party


Field Types

Properties can be configured with the following field types

  • Text Field

    • Purpose: Allows free-form text entry.

    • Additional Information:

      • Can be limited by character count.

      • Can include placeholder text (example: "Enter your name").

      • Validation: Email format, required field, and similar validation methods

  • Number Field

    • Purpose: Accepts numeric values only.

    • Additional Information:

      • Supports min/max value settings.

      • Data Masking: Only allows digits, decimal points, or currency formats.

      • Often used for phone numbers, prices, and quantities

  • Dropdown (Select Box)

    • Purpose: Allows users to choose one option from a predefined list.

    • Additional Information:

      • Useful for controlled vocabulary (example: Maintained By, Life Cycle).

      • May support dynamic loading of options based on previous field selections (dependent fields).

      • Example: Type and Sub Type dropdowns in Work Management

  • Checkbox

    • Purpose: Enables selection of one or more independent options.

    • Additional Information:

      • Often used in permission settings, asset flags, and condition assessments.

      • Can be grouped or used individually.

  • Date Picker

    • Purpose: Enables the user to select a date from a calendar view.

    • Additional Information

      • Can include time selection
