Add & Manage Languages

This article will show you how to manage the language options for your site. The primary language is already set for English, which cannot be removed or modified.

Add a Language

  1. Sign in to the HCMS

  2. Navigate to Settings and select Languages Settings menu showing language options with highlighted Languages section.

  3. Scroll to the bottom, if needed, and select the desired Language from the dropdown Language selection interface showing options to add Abkhazian language.

  4. Select Add LanguageInterface for adding languages with options for English and Spanish selection.


Modify Settings for a Non-English Language

You can create a fallback language and indicate whether it is a master language or is optional.

  1. Sign in to the HCMS

  2. Navigate to Settings and select LanguagesSettings menu showing language options with highlighted Languages section.

  3. Click the gear icon for the language and modify fields, as needed Settings menu for adding a Spanish language option with fallback settings.

    • Fallback: Allows you to pick the fallback language

    • Is Master: Check if the language selected is the last fallback language

    • Is Optional: Check to allow values for optional languages not to be specified, even if the field is set to required

  4. Click SaveUser interface showing language selection and save button for settings adjustment.


Remove a Language From Your Site

You can not delete the language entirely; you can still re-add the Language as an option later.

  1. Sign in to the HCMS

  2. Navigate to Settings and select LanguagesSettings menu showing language options with highlighted Languages section.

  3. Click the trashcan icon next to the language Language options displayed with delete icons for English and Spanish selections.

  4. Reply Yes to the pop-up that asks Do you really want to remove the language? Confirmation dialog asking to remove the selected language from the list.
