This article explains how to search our CivicPlus Help Centers. When you enter a search term, you will see a list of related articles and categories. You can also choose to view an AI-generated response that pulls content from helpful resources in the Help Center.

Access the Search Bar

You can access the Help Center search in two locations:

  • On the Homepage

Search the Help Center

The search will populate with a list of suggested articles and categories as you type. You can either click on one of the items in the list or hit Enter to view an AI-generated response to your search.

AI Response

If you click on the Ask Eddy AI box or hit Enter on your keyboard, an AI-generated answer to your search will appear. The response will cite the Help Center resources it used to summarize the answer. You can click the thumbs-up or thumbs-down icons to note whether it answered your question appropriately. You can also type a response to continue asking the AI bot for more information.

Filter Search Results

Click the Filters icon to the left of the search bar to refine results. You can also click the More article filters link in the bottom right corner of the search menu to view additional filter options.

  • Search Category Titles: Displays category titles and articles containing the search keyword.

  • Workspace: Filters results within the selected workspace

    • Current Workspace: Searches the active workspace.

    • All Workspaces: Includes all workspaces, including API documentation.

    • Specific: Allows you to select specific workspaces to search.

  • Workspace: Filters results within the selected workspace

    • Current Workspace: Searches the active workspace.

    • All Workspaces: Includes all workspaces, including API documentation.

    • Specific: Allows you to select specific workspaces to search.

  • Language: Filters results by language:

    • Current language: Searches the active language.

    • All languages: Includes all supported languages.

    • Specific: Allows selection of specific languages in your knowledge base.

  • Tags: Narrow results to articles containing the selected tags.

  • Contributors: Filter search results by contributors (article editors)

  • Date: Filter results by a specific date range

  • Categories: Select categories to refine the search results to articles or pages belonging to those categories.

Search Term Tips

  • Use double quotes (") around a word or phrase to find content that includes all of those words. For example, "meeting agenda".

  • Use the minus sign (-) in front of a search term to find content that does not include that word or phrase. For example, account -password.
