Released Enhancements
Code Compare and XHTML5 Code Versions
As municipalities transition from legacy GenCode-formatted codes to the newer XHTML5 (Extensible HyperText Markup Language 5) format, you may notice differences when using the CodeBank Compare “Code Compare” feature in Online Code Hosting.
Code Compare is designed to compare versions that share the same underlying document structure. Because GenCode and XHTML5 use different markup models, comparisons between these formats may produce incomplete or inaccurate results.
What to Expect
Comparisons between two GenCode versions continue to work as expected.
Comparisons between two XHTML5 versions continue to work as expected.
Comparisons between a GenCode version and an XHTML5 version are not supported and should not be relied upon to identify legislative changes.
This limitation exists because the XHTML5 conversion restructures document markup (including lists, tables, and other formatting) in ways that prevent the comparison engine from accurately identifying content changes.

Note:
There may be slight differences in style and format after release.

Note:
Some highlighted differences are format related, not changes to the code itself.
