To apply one or more proposed changes to a publication and generate a document from the software, Propose Mode must be activated.
Instructions
Select the desired publication
Navigate to Mode Toolbar Dropdown and select Add New Proposal
Enter a name for the proposal
Note:
A Proposal's name should be general enough to include the nature of all its proposed Changes. For example, if a user increases the number of chickens in residential areas in one chapter, and discontinues roosters from being considered a nuisance in another, the Proposal name may be broadly named "Chickens."
Proposal Names:
Are not to be confused with the Ordinance Number
Must always be unique
Are used solely as a reference for other associates within the organization
Will not be applied to the document
Tip: Users may include their name within the Proposal's name to distinguish its creator.
Select OK to apply
Note:
Click Cancel to exit the proposal name dialog.
Once the desired Proposal is displayed within the mode toolbar, make the desired changes to the table of contents and/or language. All Changes, whether made in one level or many, affix themselves to the displayed proposal.
A Proposal may be renamed or deleted by selecting the pencil to the right of the mode toolbar dropdown. Take special caution when deleting Proposals, as their Changes are not restorable.
Work With a Proposal's Individual Changes
All Changes affixed to a Proposal are shown within the "Proposed Legislation" area of a proposal's Document Creator.
To delete a Change affixed to a Proposal, enter the proposal's Document Creator and select the "trash" icon to the right side of the Change.
Proposed Changes within a level will be "locked" in Live mode to protect them from being overridden. To unlock a level, its proposed Change must be deleted.
Changes cannot be transferred automatically between Proposals.
