Add a New Point Layer to a Map

If you are using GIS in your map settings, you can add layers that show Community Development system data, such as permits, projects, and complaints. This is achieved by adding a link back to the system. We have now added the ability to add a link back to the Licensing system. This article will cover how to set up an extra layer on a Map.

Instructions

  1. Log in to Community Development

  2. Navigate to Admin Tools: Admin Tools.png

  3. Select Organization Settings:Organizational Settings.

  4. Open the Map Settings:Map Settings.

  5. Navigate to the Others Tab:Others Tab.

  6. Click the Add Extra Layer Button:Add Extra Layer Button.

  7. Open the Extra Layer Window and fill in the Fields:New Layer Fields.

    • Title(required): Fill in the Title of the Layer (for Example: Inspections or Licenses)

    • URL(Required): Copy in and edit this URL with your system name: https://civicgov4.com/{YOUR SYSTEM NAME HRE}/map/index/?gis_ajax_call=1&format=csv&item_type=License

    • Visible Check Box: Leave checked to see the Layer on the Map

    • Color: Select the color for the layer

  8. Click the Save Button:New Layer Fields Save Button.
