Create & Manage Complaint Types

Container Admins can configure the complaint types and sub-types available for the application. This list will populate in applicable dropdowns throughout the modules. You can choose which types you would like to display on the Citizen Portal.

Manage Complaint Types

  1. Sign in to your site

  2. Navigate to Admin Tools and select Database Management:The admin tools menu highlighting database management and scheduling options for user management.

  3. Select Complaints Module:Highlighted the Complaints Module among various system administration options for database customization.

  4. To create a new complaint type, scroll down to the Add New Entries To List section and fill out the complaint type name in the blank box:Input fields for adding new entries to a list in an interface.

    • Entry Name: Enter the name of the new list item

    • Portal Flag: Select whether this entry will be visible on the public portal

    • Description: Enter a description for the list item

  5. Or, you can edit the name of an existing type under the Current List section:A current list showing 'Animal Control' with associated flags and options for display.

  6. Choose Show On Portal or Hide in Portal from the dropdown; this will determine the visibility of the complaint type in the Citizen Portal:A current dropdown list showing options for portal visibility.

  7. Scroll down and click Save List:A button to save the current list in the application interface.


Manage Complaint Subtypes

  1. Sign in to your site

  2. Navigate to Admin Tools and select Database Management:The admin tools menu highlighting database management and scheduling options for user management.

  3. Select Complaints Module:Highlighted the Complaints Module among various system administration options for database customization.

  4. Click the Complaint Sub-Type Relation button in the right panel:Manage complaint types with options for animal control and code enforcement listed. The complaint subtype relation button is highlighted.

  5. Select the Request Type you would like to manage subtypes for:Manage complaint types with a highlighted focus on Animal Control and associated values.

  6. To edit an existing subtype, you can change the Value (name) and choose to Show or Hide on the Portal:Manage complaint types with a highlighted animal control selection and associated subtypes for citizen requests.

  7. To create a new subtype, scroll down to the New Values to Associate section and add a name to the blank Value field:Form fields for entering new values to associate with a data entry interface.

  8. Click the Save button:Input field labeled value with a prominent 'Save' button below it.
