Structure Information for Permit / Project Records

The Structure tab shows details about the subject structure for the current permit or project. If there’s existing data for the parcel, a link will appear. Clicking the link fills in all fields under this tab using data stored at the parcel level. This saves the user from entering the same information again.

The Structure Type field is a drop-down list of building types from the International Building Code (IBC). These options can be changed during setup or by system administrators. This field may include important data needed for state year-end reports.

• Construction Class: Enter or select the building construction classification

• Number (#) of Stories: Enter the total number of stories in the structure

• Living Space Square Footage (sq ft): Enter the square footage of the living space

• Accessory Structure Square Footage (sq ft): Enter the square footage of accessory structures

• Accessory Buildings Square Footage (sq ft): Enter the square footage of accessory buildings

• Total and Habitable Square Footage (sq ft): Enter the total and habitable square footage of the structure

• Structure Height: Enter the height of the structure

• Structure Width: Enter the width of the structure

• Structure Length: Enter the length of the structure

• Number (#) of Units: Enter the total number of units in the structure

• Load Per Floor: Enter the load capacity per floor

• Manufactured Truss: Select whether manufactured trusses are used

• Wall Construction: Enter the type of wall construction

• Sign Dimensions: Enter the dimensions of the sign

• Number (#) of Bedrooms: Enter the total number of bedrooms

• Number (#) of Bathrooms: Enter the total number of bathrooms

• Capacity Empty Room or Main: Enter the occupancy capacity for an empty room or main space

• Capacity with Chairs: Enter the occupancy capacity with chairs only

• Capacity with Tables or Chairs: Enter the occupancy capacity with tables or chairs

• Basement Square Footage: Enter the total basement square footage

• Basement Finished Sq Ft: Enter the finished basement square footage

• Basement Unfinished Sq Ft: Enter the unfinished basement square footage

• Total Basement Area: Enter the total basement area

Living Space, Accessory Building, and Accessory Structure Calculations

This section of the Structure tab allows users to add floors under the main living structure. Five floors appear by default, but you do not have to use them. Staff can also enter values for accessory buildings and structures. These may include garages, sheds, barns, decks, patios, stoops, and porches. The system automatically totals the data entered in this section and displays it at the bottom. After the information is saved, the data is also updated in the related parcel, building, or suite records.

Note:
The field totals for living space, accessory buildings, and accessory structures are used with the fees assigned to the record. The system will calculate those fees.

Foundation & Setbacks

Note the Foundation Material and Type as well as any Setback information.

• Material: Select the foundation material

• Type: Select the foundation type

• Footing Depth: Enter the depth of the footing

• Front: Enter the front setback distance

• Rear: Enter the rear setback distance

• Right Side: Enter the right side setback distance

• Left Side: Enter the left side setback distance

• Other Information: Enter additional information related to the setbacks

Utility & Miscellaneous

Select the utilities that apply to the structure. Include details like driveway width and whether there is a sprinkler system.

• Water: Select whether the water service is public or private

• Sewage: Select whether the sewage service is public or private

• Electric: Select whether the electric service is public or private

• Gas: Select whether the gas service is public or private

• Driveway Width: Enter the width of the driveway

• Number of Off-Street Parking: Enter the total number of off-street parking spaces

• Number of Off-Street Loading: Enter the total number of off-street loading spaces

• Sprinkler System: Select whether a sprinkler system is installed

• Alarm System Provided: Select whether an alarm system is provided

• Other Information: Enter any additional information related to the property or structure
