Zoning Permits

Prev Next

Zoning Permits are managed in a separate area of the Permitting System. This area lets users create specific zoning permit numbers. It also lets them use zoning permit types and uses. This interface helps users create detailed zoning permits when needed. Users can also link these zoning permits to specific permits and projects. This is done when zoning permits are required for those projects.

All fields and tabs in the zoning permit component are identical to the regular permit processes. The only difference happens when a zoning permit application is approved. The system will then create a zoning permit number. This number will have a "Z" at the start.

Link a Zoning Permit to a Project / Permit Record

Once a zoning permit is created and approved, a user can link the zoning permit to regular permits.

  1. Sign in to your site

  2. Navigate to Permitting System, select List, and select a record The expandable option labeled Permitting System in the vertical left-hand menu, then the option labeled List, then the URL in the Permit Number column.

  3. Click Edit The button labeled Edit.

  4. On the Applicant tab, scroll down to the Zone Permit field. Select the appropriate zoning permit from the drop-down The drop down menu labeled Zone Permit.

    Note:

If a zoning permit is just an application and has not been approved, it will not appear in the drop-down list. This also applies if it has not been given a zoning permit number. This list is found within a permit record. This stops users from linking zoning permit applications to other permits or projects. These other permits or projects might be approved based on having a zoning permit. If the zoning permit application is denied, the linked permit or project applications could be approved. This approval would be based on incorrect information, since the zoning permit was actually denied.

  5. Click Save Permit The button labeled Save Permit.
