Tags are used for identifying the characteristics of a content item or asset. While tags can be used to group content items and assets with similar characteristics, categories should be used for larger-scale grouping of content and assets (much like a folder).
Users can filter content and assets by tag to make it easier to find the items they are looking for.
Add Tags to Content & Assets
Users can add new tags when adding/modifying content and assets by typing in the Tag field and pressing the Enter key. Tags can include upper case, lower case, spaces, and special characters
When adding tags, the casing does not matter. For instance, if there are items with a Kansas tag and a user accidentally adds a tag for "kaNsas" or "kansas" to another item, these would all result in the item having the tag of "Kansas." If a tag is added with spelling errors or typos, that can be addressed from the Tags Settings screen by modifying the incorrect tag.
Modify an Existing Tag
Navigate to Settings and select Tags in the secondary menu
Select the gear icon on the tag and make the modifications
Click Update
Merge Existing Tags
Navigate to Settings and then select Tags in the secondary navigation
Select the gear icon for the incorrect tag and modify the incorrect tag to be identical to the tag you want to merge it with
Click Update
The incorrect tag will disappear from the list and all the items with the incorrect tag will be assigned the correct/merged tag.
Delete an Existing Tag
Important Note
Deleting a tag will remove the deleted tag from all items associated with that tag. the associated assets and content items will not be deleted and will only have one less tag.
Navigate to Settings and then select Tags in the secondary navigation
Select Delete (trashcan icon) next to the tag
Click Yes on the pop-up that says Do you really want to delete the tag?
