Retrieve an Asset's GUID

This article will show you how to retrieve a GUID (Globally Unique Identifier) for an Asset in the HCMS.

Instructions

1. Sign in to your HCMS site

2. Select Assets on the left-hand side

3. Hover over the desired asset and click the Actions menu (...)

4. Click Preview

5. The asset will open in a new tab, copy the GUID in the URL at the top

   Note:

   The GUID is the string of letters and numbers after assets/HCMSname/ and before the next /. Example: https://site.customer.com/api/assets/HCMSname/81d30886-f838-42fa-8e30-8e7b772eef47/puppy.jpg?sq=3e8da00c-e924-4aa0-325e-7ec65ecd3a1f&scope=all
