Broadcast a Live Video

Instructions

  1. Login to the Admin side of your website
  2. Go Modules > Content > CivicMedia™
  3. Click on the Channel you want to add the video to
  4. Click Broadcast Now! (Fig. 3-1)

  5. Download the HD Wave Broadcaster if you haven’t already by clicking on the button provided in the pop-up box (Fig. 3-2)

  6. After the HD Wave Broadcaster has downloaded and you open it up, you will fill-in the Username and Password fields with what is provided from Step 3 in Fig. 3-2
  7. Choose your Channel to broadcast on, then decide if you want audio and video to be broadcasted, or one or the other by checking the appropriate boxes (Step 2 and 3). After you’ve decided which outputs you want (video, audio, or both) you can choose where you would like to additionally store the recording after it is complete by browsing the ‘Save to file’ field. (Step 4) (Fig. 3-3)



    Note: Your video will not automatically post unless Auto Recording is setup on your site, it is recommended to Save to File as a backup. If you would like auto record turned on or off for your site, have the Primary Contact reach out to CivicPlus Support by email.
  8. Select Start Broadcast (Step 5).

Note: Once the broadcast starts you will see it live as the first video in the channel you selected in step 7.

Stopping Broadcast Instructions

  1. When done broadcasting, click Stop Broadcast
  2. Use the X button in the top right of the broadcast box to close broadcast
  3. Once you end the broadcast, it will begin encoding on the Channel you selected.

  4. After the video / audio has encoded, you may then publish.
