Change a Users Name in CRT

Instructions

There is a way to change the user name in Request Tracker. The trick is that you have to de-activate the user in the CRT module "Users" tab BEFORE any changes are made to the user account.

  1. Go to Modules > Modules > Request Tracker > Users Tab > Choose "Make Inactive" on the user (left side)
  2. Go to Modules > Site Tools > User Administration > Modify and update the account with new details > Save
  3. Go back into Modules > Modules > Request Tracker > Users Tab > Choose "Make Active" on the user (right side)

If you do not de-activate the user license in Request Tracker and changes are made to the user account, you will have to delete the account entirely to fix the name. Please remember if you do not deactivate the license before deleting an account, a blank-named user will then always appear in the CRT Users list.

  1. Go to Modules > Modules > Request Tracker > Users Tab > Choose "Make Inactive" on the user (left side)
  2. Go to Modules > Site Tools > User Administration > Delete the user account with new details
  3. In User Admin -- Create new account with updated details and grant groups/permissions needed
  4. Go back into Modules > Modules > Request Tracker > Users Tab > Choose "Make Active" on the user (right side)
