A favicon is a small icon that appears to the left of your site address in the address bar of your browser.
If you have an existing favicon, please submit it to our Support Team, after confirming it meets the requirements listed below.
If you’d like us to create a favicon for you, and your CivicEngage website is currently live, please reach out to your Account Manager as there may be a cost associated.
If you would like us to create a favicon and your CivicEngage website is still in the production phase, please reach out to your project manager.
Note: Only one favicon can be added to a website. A single website cannot have different favicons based on pages.
- PNG-sized 16x16 or 32x32
- JPG-sized 16x16 or 32x32
- ICO file containing at least a 16x16 pixel layer or 32x32 pixel layer, using either 8-bit or 24-bit color
- Note: An ICO can have multiple layers that include 16x16, 32x32, 48x48, and 64x64 pixel layers. Having multiple layers ensures the best quality is rendered with the highest browser compatibility. A browser will automatically display the layer having the highest resolution.
The CivicEngage Web Developers will ultimately convert any PNG or JPG files to ICO. For better resolution, you can transform one of these files into a compatible ICO file. This can be done using an image editing software, such as GIMP freeware or icoconvert.com. A 32x32 layer is recommended for better resolutions.
