This article will show you how to add and manage transitions on a workflow step in the HCMS (Headless Content Management System).

Add a Workflow Transition
- Navigate to Settings and then select the Workflows menu option:
- Click the gear icon next to the Workflow you wish to edit:
- Scroll to the desired step and choose one of the status options from the dropdown:
Note: In the dropdown you will see a list of statuses on the workflow that have not already been added as a transition for the step. If you do not see a dropdown, that means you already have all available options added to the step. - Click the + button:
- If desired, add a Role for the transition:
Note: If there are no roles specified, any user with access to modify content will be able to complete the transition for the content item or asset this workflow applies to. - JavaScript can be used in the Expression field to specify if there are only certain conditions where users can change the status:
- Scroll up and click the Save button:
Delete a Workflow Transition
- Navigate to Settings and then select the Workflows menu option:
- Click the gear icon next to the Workflow you wish to edit:
- Select the Delete button (trash can icon) next to the transition you wish to remove:br
Note: This does not delete the step entirely, it just removes it as the transition for the given step and it can still be used in this workflow.
