You will know you have a department header rather than a subsite if the domain for the site is the same as the domain for your main site. This means they are technically part of the same website.
In Integration Hub you will have a single credential for your main site and your department header. But you can still sync information between the two with Categories.
A great use case is to create an Alert Center item in a relevant Department Header category when an Alert Center item is created in one of the main site’s categories. With this integration, every time an Alert Center item in the main site’s Road Closures category is created, a duplicate Alert Center item will be created in the Department Header’s Road Closure Alerts category.
If you don’t always want that item to be published, you can specify in Step 2 that you always want these items to be created as a Draft.
If you only want the Alert Center item to be created in the Department Header’s category if certain conditions are met you can use an advanced integration with one or more conditionals. This could be used if, for example, you only want the Alert Center item to be created in the Department Header’s category if the Name of the Alert Center item contains the word “emergency”.
