Configure Dropdown Options in Boards and Committees

Before you can select options from dropdown lists in the Boards or People modules, you must configure your dropdown settings. This article will show you how to add, edit, and delete dropdown options.

Add a Dropdown Option

  1. Sign in to your solution if you have not already

  2. Navigate to the User Menu, then select the Boards and Committees option:The User Menu with the Boards and Committees option highlighted.

  3. Navigate to the User Menu, then click the Settings option:The Boards and Committees module User Menu with the Settings option highlighted.

  4. Select a category to modify its Dropdown Options:Buttons for the six categories within the Dropdown Options section.

    • Boards: Modify options for Boards

    • Roster: Modify options for the People Roster

    • People: Modify options for People

    • Applications: Modify options for Applications

    • Training: Modify options for Training

    • Documentation: Modify options for Documentation (files, attachments, or similar)

    Note:

    The process to configure dropdown options is the same for all categories.

  5. Click the Add button next to a category name to create a new dropdown option:The green, rectangular Add Button, which appears below the User Menu.

  6. Enter a name for the new option in the Description box:An example Description text box within the Description column.

  7. Click the Save button:The green, rectangular Save button, which appears to the left of the Description text box.

  8. The dropdown option has been added


Edit a Dropdown Option

  1. Sign in to your solution if you have not already

  2. Navigate to the User Menu, then select the Boards and Committees option:The User Menu with the Boards and Committees option highlighted.

  3. Navigate to the User Menu, then click the Settings option:The Boards and Committees module User Menu with the Settings option highlighted.

  4. Select a category to modify its Dropdown Options:Buttons for the six categories within the Dropdown Options section.

    • Boards: Modify options for Boards

    • Roster: Modify options for the People Roster

    • People: Modify options for People

    • Applications: Modify options for Applications

    • Training: Modify options for Training

    • Documentation: Modify options for Documentation (files, attachments, or similar)

    Note:

    The process to configure dropdown options is the same for all categories.

  5. Click the Edit button to the left of the option you wish to modify:The blue, rectangular Edit button to the left of the example dropdown option.

  6. Edit the Description of the dropdown option as desired:An example Description text box within the Description column.

  7. Click the Save button to save your changes:The green, rectangular Save button, which appears to the left of the Description text box.

  8. The dropdown option has been edited


Delete a Dropdown Option

  1. Sign in to your solution if you have not already

  2. Navigate to the User Menu, then select the Boards and Committees option:The User Menu with the Boards and Committees option highlighted.

  3. Navigate to the User Menu, then click the Settings option:The Boards and Committees module User Menu with the Settings option highlighted.

  4. Select a category to modify its Dropdown Options:Buttons for the six categories within the Dropdown Options section.

    • Boards: Modify options for Boards

    • Roster: Modify options for the People Roster

    • People: Modify options for People

    • Applications: Modify options for Applications

    • Training: Modify options for Training

    • Documentation: Modify options for Documentation (files, attachments, or similar)

  5. Click the Delete button to the left of the option you wish to delete:The red, rectangular Delete button to the left of an example dropdown option.

  6. Click the OK button on the pop-up box that appears to confirm the deletion:The blue, rectangular OK button on the 'Confirm Delete?' popup.

  7. The dropdown option has been deleted
