Transcoding is a behind-the-scenes feature in Agenda and Meeting Management Select that ensures your meeting videos are accessible, smooth, and compatible across a wide range of devices and internet connections.
What Is Transcoding?
Transcoding automatically converts your recorded livestreams into optimized formats and resolutions. This process helps ensure that videos play seamlessly for all viewers, whether on a phone, tablet, or desktop computer.
Once a livestream ends, Agenda and Meeting Management Select processes the video in the background, preparing multiple versions in different resolutions. This allows viewers to watch the meeting video in the best quality available for their device and connection speed.
Key Benefits
Universal Playback: Works across browsers, devices, and platforms.
Adaptive Streaming: Viewers with slower connections can still access the content in a lower resolution.
Optimized Storage: Transcoding creates versions that are more efficient in file size without sacrificing quality.
No Setup Needed: This feature is automatic. No extra steps or configurations are required by your staff.
Localization: Transcoding can include adding subtitles, dubbing, or changing audio tracks to suit different languages or regions.
Who Is It For?
This feature is especially helpful for residents and community members who rely on your meeting recordings to stay informed. Whether they’re tuning in from a mobile device on the go or watching on a desktop at home, transcoding ensures a smoother, more reliable experience.
Available Transcoded Resolutions
When transcoding is set up in Agenda and Meeting Management Select, your meeting videos are processed into three versions:
Source: This is the original recording quality, exactly as it was captured during the livestream. It’s typically the highest quality available, but also has the largest file size.
720p: A high definition version of the video. It’s a great balance between quality and performance, especially for desktop and larger screens.
360p: A low definition version that is ideal for viewers on slower internet connections or smaller devices. It uses the least bandwidth and loads quickly.
How It Works
Agenda and Meeting Management Select automatically detects the viewer’s internet speed and device, then delivers the most suitable resolution. Viewers get the smoothest experience without needing to choose a setting manually.
Note: The available resolutions depend on the quality of the original livestream and your configuration settings.
