CivicPlus requires a hardware or software encoder capable of generating an authenticated RTMP stream for video services. If you use multiple video sources, the encoder needs to support this functionality or a video scaler will also need to be used in the hardware chain. We also recommend that the encoder be capable of creating a local recording of the video as a backup, in case there are any network interruptions.
CivicPlus team members will provide customers with the configuration settings necessary for their encoder, as well as IP and port information for their firewall. We will test to ensure an accurate setup has been completed and verify stream quality. However, we cannot troubleshoot error messages displayed by the encoder or video equipment. Those errors should be reported to your IT department, local audio-visual provider, or hardware manufacturer.
