News Flash Widget - Truncate Overview

There is an option in the News Flash Widget Manager options for Items to Truncate description. If selected, a Character Limit can be chosen up to News Flash Description’s 255 field character limit, and all items with any longer descriptions will be truncated.

Important Note:

  • Setting a low limit here can help keep News Flash widget heights consistent while scrolling.

Instructions

  1. Click to expand the Modules and on the Site Tools tab, select Design CenterThe expanded Modules drop-down menu, with the Design Center option of the Site Tools tab highlighted.

  2. Select Widget ManagerThe Design Center module screen with the Widget Manager option highlighted.

  3. Select News Flash The Widget Manager of the Design Center module with the News Flash widget highlighted.

  4. Select Default Option Set The Widget Manager of the Design Center module with the Default Option Set of the News Flash widget highlighted.

  5. Select Items Tab The News Flash widget Options dialog box with the Items tab highlighted.

  6. Check the Truncate Description box The News Flash widget Options dialog with the Truncate Description checkbox highlighted.

  7. Select the Character Limit The News Flash widget Options dialog box with the Character Limit drop-down menu highlighted.

  8. Click Save The News Flash widget Options dialog with the Save button highlighted.
