Add a Favicon to Your Site

A Favicon is a small icon that appears to the left of your site address in your browser. It is also used in mobile website shortcuts, bookmarks, Windows tiles, and webpage shortcuts.

Important Notes:

  • Only one favicon can be added to a website. A single website cannot have different favicons based on pages.

  • If you would like us to create a favicon for you and your website is currently live, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager as there may be a cost associated.

  • If you would like us to create a favicon and your website is still in the production phase, please reach out to your Project Manager.

Favicon Requirements

  • JPG or PNG file types are acceptable uploads.

  • Recommended size is 260 by 260 pixels for optimal results.

Instructions

  1. Sign in to your site

  2. Navigate to Site Tools and select Site PropertiesThe URL labeled Site Properties, found in the alphabetical list in the gear icon Site Tools menu.

  3. Scroll down and click Add FaviconThe button labeled Add Favicon below the Favicon header.

  4. Select Add FilesThe button labeled Add Files, to the right of the Cancel button and the left of the Link Selected Image button.

  5. Use the dropdown to select a Permission SetThe permission sets found by clicking into the dropdown menu labeled Permission Set, under the Upload an Asset header.

  6. Select a CategoryThe categories found by clicking into the dropdown menu labeled Categories.

  7. Drag and drop your file or click to Select FilesThe dotted border box labeled Click or drag to add files.

  8. Select the file on your computer and click OpenThe file selected in the file browser, and the Open button in the bottom-right corner of the file browser.

  9. Complete the fieldsThe Permission Set, Categories, File Name, and Tags fields under the Upload an Asset header and the Save button.

    • Permission Set: Select the associated permission set

    • Categories: Type a category name to search and select associated categories

    • File Name: Enter the name of the Favicon

    • Tags: Type a tag name to search for an existing tag, or press Enter to create the tag

    • Metadata: Add a description of the file to assist the system in sorting the file in the HCMS

    • Add Metadata: Click to add more rows for metadata

  10. Select a Save OptionThe button labeled Save, and the save Action Menu to the right of the Save button, all under the Upload an Asset header.

    • Save: Save without publishing

    • Save and Change to Published: Save and publish the Favicon to your site

  11. Select a Scheduling and Notification OptionThe option sets under the Scheduling header and the Notify Your Users header.

    • Schedule

      • Set to Published immediately: Publish the Favicon now

      • Set to Published at a later date: Select a later time and date to publish the favicon to the site

    • Notify Your Users

      • Do not send a notification: Do not notify your users of the change

      • Send notification on publish date: Notify your users of the change on the date the favicon is published

  12. Select the uploaded image and click Link Selected ImageThe button labeled Link Selected Image in the bottom-right corner of the Select an Asset window.

  13. Scroll up and click Save ChangesThe button labeled Save Changes in the top-right corner of the page.
