Add a Global Navigation Item (Mega Menu)

This article will show you how to add a Mega Menu () item to your site.

Instructions

  1. Sign in to your Evolve website

  2. Hover over an existing Mega Menu in the global navigation and click the Add Page link: Add Page hyperlink in the site mega menu.

    Note:
    It will not matter where you add this page, because you will move it to your desired location once it is created.

  3. Create your New Page: An example image of the New Page information input fields.

    • Menu Text: Displays in the navigational menus

      Note:

      Make sure to title this page what you want your Global Navigation/Mega Menu to be titled.The Title field will auto-fill from your Menu Text field.

    • Title: Title of the page

    • Always Use Page Title for Menu Text: If checked, text will automatically match the Page Title when submitted or saved page versions are published

    • Linked Page: Check the box if you want to create a linked page. This will cause 3 new fields to appear:

      • Link: Paste the URL for your page, or start typing the name, or ID if it is an internal page

      • Link Target: Choose if you want the page to open in the same window or a new window

      • Use Menu: The link will use the fly-outs from the page you link to if it has any sub-pages and is within your site

    • Description: Summary of the page

    • Keywords: Input keywords to assist in search functionalization

    • Miscellaneous Tags: Add tags, do not have to be separated by commas

    • Image: Choose an image to represent the page

    • Hidden: Hide the page to remove it from menus

    • Feature Column: Not applicable for linked pages

  4. Locate and click the Create Page button: The Create Page button.

  5. Add any desired content to your page, then click the Publish icon: The Publish button.

  6. Click the My Site tab to access the Site Map: My site tab located in the left-hand vertical navigation menu

  7. On the Site Map page, locate the page you just created: The new page link in the Site Navigation menu.

  8. Use the blue cursor to drag and drop your new page out of its current place in navigation and move the temporary page above or below an existing Global Navigation/Mega Menu item: The page menu link dragged and dropped to a new location in the Site Navigation.

    Note:
    This action will turn your page into a Global Navigation/Mega Menu item.

  9. View your new Global Navigation/Mega Menu: The site Mega Menu with the new page highlighted
