Create a Link to a Content Item

  1. You can now get a link to a content item in Municipal Websites Evolve by going to the item’s action menu and choosing the Copy Link option: The Copy Link option in the content options.

  2. After hitting Copy Link, it will open the Generate Link Options dialog box: An example of the Generate Link Options modal.

  3. Open See More Link: Choose to open your content ‘In a Page’ or ‘In a Dialog’: The Open See More Link field.

  4. Open in a Different Page: If not checked, it will open in the page you are currently on when you copy the link. If checked, it will provide some additional options to select a different existing page for the content to open in, either on the page or in the dialog, depending on the configuration. The Open in an Existing Page options.

    • Copy Link will give you the full URL, which should not be used within the site but is perfect for using externally on other websites, in documents, bookmarks, flyers, and other like items.

    • Copy Relative Link will give you only the relative URL and should only be used internally within the site. It will not work if posted externally without the context of the site you are on.

  5. A message will appear reading Link Copied to Clipboard if your link has been successfully copied: The Link Copied to Clipboard confirmation message.
