Edit Captions

  1. Sign in to your CivicPlus Video site

    Note:

    For Web Central customers, navigate to the Modules menu and on the Content tab, select CivicPlus Video. You will be automatically signed in with your credentials.

  2. Select the three-dot actions menu next to a video and select Accessibility

  3. If applicable, select the caption language you want to edit

    Note:

    For more information on caption languages, view the Translate Captions section.

  4. Edit the caption text, as needed
    Captions textbox.

  5. Click the X icon to remove a caption section or click the + icon to add a caption section

  6. If applicable, adjust the time stamps for a caption
    The time stamps next to a caption.

  7. Click the Save icon
    Save icon above the captions editor.

Translate Captions

  1. Sign in to your CivicPlus Video site

    Note:

    For Web Central customers, navigate to the Modules menu and on the Content tab, select CivicPlus Video. You will be automatically signed in with your credentials.

  2. Select the three-dot actions menu next to a video and select Accessibility

  3. Click the Translate Captions icon in the top right corner
    Translate Captions icon above the Languages list.

  4. Check the boxes next to the languages you would like to add captions for
    List of languages available for translation with checkboxes for selection.

  5. Click the Translate button

  6. The translated captions will display in the list; select a language to edit the captions, as needed

  7. The languages will now show as options when selecting captions on the video

Manually Add Captions

  1. Sign in to your CivicPlus Video site

    For Web Central customers, navigate to the Modules menu and on the Content tab, select CivicPlus Video. You will be automatically signed in with your credentials.

  2. Select the three-dot actions menu next to a video and select Accessibility

  3. You can add captions in the following ways:

    1. Click the Upload CTT File icon to upload a captions file
      An icon for uploading VTT files above the language options.

    2. Click the Add New Empty Captions icon to manually enter caption text

      1. Select the applicable Language from the drop-down
        Select a language from the drop-down above the captions editor.

      2. Set the time stamp of the caption
        Time codes next to the captions textbox.

      3. Enter the caption text
        Text input area for adding captions with timecode options displayed.

      4. Click the plus sign icon in the bottom right corner of the caption textbox to add additional captions

      5. Click the Save button to save your captions
        Save icon next to the language drop-down of the captions editor.
