Apply Pay Later in Checkout

This article will show you how to enable a Pay Later option. Pay Later can be used in the checkout process for many reasons. Here are just a few examples of when using a pay later option can come in handy:

  • If the user is online at home and needs a staff override but your staff doesn’t accept credit card information over the phone, it can be used to send the balance and have the user pay on their own.

  • If a user is having trouble with credit/debit card approval or doesn’t have the full amount in cash on them, the balance can be applied to their account.

  • If you have special arrangements for certain users or on certain facility rental types where they can pay a portion upfront and a portion later.

Important Note:

Pay Later is not available for checkout on a mobile device.

Prerequisites

There are two ways to apply Pay Later at checkout.

  1. An override Pay Later of the entire cart. click the Pay later button.

  2. At each facility or activity level - more like a down payment option. View and update the pay now and later field options.

Instructions

  1. Log in to Recreation Management

  2. Navigate to the Catalog
    Navigation menu Highlighting the Catalog Tab

  3. Choose an item from the Catalog

  4. Click Add to Cart added Account Members selected and the add to cart button highlighted.

  5. Proceed to Checkout Checkout summary showing total amount and payment options for membership fees with the checkout button highlighted

  6. Option 1 - Apply Pay Later to Entire Cart

    1. Select Pay Later at the top of the Payment screen Use the Pay later drop down menu.

    2. Fill out the Pay Later fields Use the Pay Later menu fields so select payment options.

      • Amount: Choose the percentage of the payment to pay later

      • Pay By:

        • Specific Date: Specify the date the balance will be due

        • # Days Prior: Specify the number of days before the reservation or first class that the balance would be due by

        • 1st of Month of Service: Select to make the balance due on the first day of the month the class/reservation is scheduled

          • Example: If the class or reservation starts on March 17th, then the due date would be March 1st

        • 1st of Month Prior to Service Month: Select to make the balance due on the first day of the month before the class/reservation is scheduled

          • Example: If the class or reservation starts on March 17th, then the due date would be February 1st

        • Monday of Service Week: Select to make the balance due on the Monday of the week the class/reservation is scheduled for

        • Friday Before Service Week: Select to make the balance due on the Friday before the week of the class/reservation

    3. Click Apply Click Apply to apply the selected pay later field options.

      Note:

      This is the only pay later option that will take everything in the cart including add-ons, taxes, and convenience fees.

  7. Option 2 - Apply Pay Later to Specific Line Items

    1. Select the arrow next to the price of the line item

      Use the Price selection options drop down arrow.

      Note:

      If you do not see the down arrow, double-check that the facility or session allows for pay later. This will need to be configured for each add-on as well if you need that option.

    2. Configure the pricing options

      use the Payment options fields drop down menu to configure pricing.

      • Pay Now: Choose the amount to pay now

        Note:

        By typing $0 into the Pay Now field, it will automatically add the total for the line item to the Pay Later total.

      • Pay Later: Input the amount to be paid later

      • Pay By: Enter the date the remaining balance will need to be paid by

    3. Click Apply Payment options including Pay Now, Pay Later, and Pay By date with the apply button highlighted.

      Note:

      This will need to be done for each line item and does not apply to taxes or convenience fees.

  8. Click Complete Transaction Payment Complete Transaction Button Highlighted.

  9. View the Transaction Receipt Transaction receipt detailing payment and registration information.
