# Take a Screenshot - MAC, PC

This article will show you how to perform a screenshot on a Mac or Windows computer.

## Desktop Screenshot

1. Hold down **shift** + **command** + **3** at the same time to take a screenshot

> If the volume is on, you will hear a camera sound.
2. ## Snipped Tool Screenshot

1. Hold down **shift** + **command** + **4** at the same time
2. The mouse cursor will change to resemble a compass; click and drag the mouse over the portion of the screen you want to capture

3. An image will appear on your desktop as a JPEG

> If you’re using MacOS Mojave or later, hold down Command + Shift + 5 at the same time to pull up the screenshot toolbar and select an area to capture.
