# Two-Factor Sign-In

This article will show you how to navigate through a 2FA login. Two-factor authentication through CivicPlus Single Sign-On now uses two methods:

- **Authenticator** **App** **(recommended):** This is the strongest and most reliable option for protecting accounts.
- **Email:** A good fallback for users who can’t or don’t want to use an authenticator app, while still improving security compared to password-only login.

You can [set up two-factor authentication](/civicplus-help-center/docs/set-up-two-factor-authentication-on-an-account) on your account, or your [organization may require 2FA](/civicplus-help-center/docs/force-two-factor-authentication-for-an-organization).

> If you are unable to log in using 2FA, [contact CivicPlus Support](/civicplus-help-center/docs/contact-civicplus-support) who can reset your 2FA settings.

## Instructions

1. 2. Follow the instructions based on your authentication method:
  - **Authenticator App:**
    1. You will be taken to a second screen to enter your **Authenticator code**.     2.   - **Email:**
    1.     2. Enter the **Authentication Code** and click **Sign In**
