Tracking Bankruptcy

  1. Sign In to Utility Billing

  2. Search for and access the Account

  3. Click the Add Event button
    Add Event button in an Account profile.

  4. Click the Bankruptcy button
    The Bankruptcy button in the Event Type modal.

  5. Complete the fields

    • Status
      The Status dropdown menu and options under the Status header.

      • Complete: The bankruptcy no longer applies

      • Pending: The bankruptcy has not been finalized

      • Reviewed: The bankruptcy has been reviewed and applied to the account

    • Audit

      • Transaction Date: Click the calendar icon to select the date you were notified of the bankruptcy

      • Transaction Time: Manually enter the time you were notified of the bankruptcy

      • Entered By: This field is automatically filled in

      • Resolution: Indicate if the bankruptcy has been discharged or dismissed

        • Discharged: The debtor is no longer personally liable for certain debts

        • Dismissed: The bankruptcy case was ended without completing the relief process

      • Protected Amount: The portion of the balance that is temporarily or permanently shielded from collection
        The Protected Amount text input field under the Audit header.

      • Filed By: The party that filed for bankruptcy
        The Filed By dropdown and options under the Audit header.

    • Note

      • Internal: Any internal notes about the bankruptcy on the account
        The Internal note field under the Note header.

  6. Add documents, such as a bankruptcy letter or notice of bankruptcy, if necessaryit’

  7. Click the Save button
    The Save button in the bottom left corner of the Bankruptcy modal.
