There are three ways to submit your legislation to CivicPlus. This article will discuss how you can submit your legislation by email, through our file share application, or using one of our Agenda and Meeting Management solution integrations.
Important Notes
Microsoft Word is the preferred format for us to receive legislation, but you may also send in your material in digital PDF format.
You will need to have your account number to submit legislation through our file share application. If you do not already know your account number, please contact Support.
Please submit an updated list of officials using the Submit Legislation By Email or Submit Legislation By File Share instructions in this article. This list of officials will be updated during your next supplementation, but not displayed on OrdBank.
Submit Legislation By Email
You can email your legislation to our Municode Ordinances Administration team.
Submit Legislation By File Share
Navigate to CivicPlus' Codification file share application
Click the Submissions tab
Enter your account number in the Municode Account Number field
Note:
If you do not know your account number, please contact Support.
Click the Lookup button
The Municipality Name and Municipality State fields will auto-populate; double-check that you are viewing the correct account
Check the Yes checkbox under the "I have reviewed the account information above for accuracy?" prompt
Note:
If the information in the Municipality Name and Municipality State fields is not accurate, please repeat steps 3 through 5.
Enter your email address into the Your contact email address field
Note:
You will only be contacted if we need clarification on something relating to your submission.
Select Supplements under the "I would like to submit material for... prompt
In the Instructions for supplementation field, add any instructions or notes you have for the legislation you are sending
Click the Please attach additional files box and select the desired file(s) from your computer's File Explorer
Note:
Uploaded files should not contain special characters (such as !, @, #, $, %, ^, &, *, ()) in their file names. Special characters will cause a delay in the processing of any materials submitted.
Click the Publication Type dropdown and select the desired publication type from the list
Code of Ordinances: Select this option for code of ordinances publications
Zoning Publication: Select this option for zoning publications
Land Development: Select this option for land development publications
Comprehensive Plan: Select this option for comprehensive plan publications
All Accounts: Select this option for all accounts publications
Other: Select this option for publications that do not fit any available publication types
Check the I'm not a robot checkbox in the reCAPTCHA box and complete any prompts that appear
Click the Submit button
Your legislation has been submitted
Submit Legislation Through an Agenda and Meeting Management Integration
Customers with our Online Code Hosting service (with OrdBank enabled) and our Agenda and Meeting Management Select or Agenda and Meeting Management Essential solutions can select ordinances from completed meetings and have them immediately shown on the landing page of their Online Code. Once codified, the history note referencing the ordinance will link back to the relevant meeting landing page containing the audio, video, and supporting agenda documents specific to the meeting during which the ordinance was discussed.
Agenda and Meeting Management Select Integration
Customers with Online Code Hosting and Agenda and Meeting Management Select can submit legislation using the Send to Municode feature on the relevant meeting's Item Files page.

Agenda and Meeting Management Essential Integration
Customers with Online Code Hosting and Agenda and Meeting Management Essential can submit legislation using the Send to Municode feature on the relevant meeting's Meeting Detail Screen.
