Link a Zoning Permit to a Project or Permit Record

Once a zoning permit is created and approved, a user can link it to regular permits.

Instructions

  1. Sign in to your site

  2. Click Permitting System:
Menu options for Community Development, highlighting the Permitting System feature.

  3. Click List in the Permitting System menu:
Menu options for a permitting system, highlighting the 'List' feature for navigation.

  4. Select a record:
A Permit Number URL in the Permit # column of the Permits page.

  5. Click the Edit button: Permit details showing application number, type, and amount due for drywall work. The edit button is highlighted.

  6. On the Applicant tab, scroll down to the Zone Permit field: Form fields for the zone permit, including selection options and dates for processing.

  7. Select the appropriate zoning permit from the drop-down:

Zone Permit dropdown menu displaying a zone permit option for user selection.

    Note:

If a zoning permit is just an application and has not been approved, it will not appear in the drop-down list. This also applies if it has not been given a zoning permit number. This list is found within a permit record. This stops users from linking zoning permit applications to other permits or projects. These other permits or projects might be approved based on having a zoning permit. If the zoning permit application is denied, the linked permit or project applications could be approved. This approval would be based on incorrect information, since the zoning permit was actually denied.

  8. Scroll up and click Save Permit: Buttons for saving, cloning, canceling, and printing a permit in a user interface. The save permit button is highlighted.
