View a Parcel on the Map | Elevate

This article shows you how to use the map feature within the Elevate version of Community Development to view your parcels. It explains where to find the map, what it looks like, and what each button on the map means. This will help you easily use all its features to find and understand your parcel details.

View on Map

  1. Sign in to your site

  2. Go to Asset Management, expand Property Management, and select Search Dashboard interface showing asset management and property management options to search.

  4. In the search results, locate the property and click on the Edit Record icon under ActionsSearch results for a property showing details and actions. The edit record icon is highlighted.

  5. Click on the View Map button. Individual property information is displayed. The view on map button is highlighted.

    Note

    The view map button only appears in the top right corner if you have a GIS integration and these fields have correct values: GIS, Lat, LONG. All three of these fields appear in the property details section on the parcel.

  6. You are now in the mapping system view and can zoom in on the selected parcel. Many features can be used on this screen for more details GIS map displaying various features and details about an area's parcels and inspections.

    • Search: You can search by fields that you set up in your settings. Typically, these are parcel IDs (identification) or addresses. You can also toggle between the layers you want to search. An interface displaying search options for layers, including 'Search Main Layer' and 'Rockport'.

    • Legend and Visible Layers: By default, all layers are shown, and their visibility is set based on your settings. You can toggle layers off and on by clicking the 'eye'. A list of categories, including permit, complaint, project, and inspection for Rockport.

    • Parcel Card: You can click on individual polygons, lines, and points to get additional information. For example, if you click on a parcel, the parcel card will show.

      • The Parcel button is a shortcut to the parcel record within Property Management. A parcel information card showing various details of a selected parcel.

    • Zooming: In the top-left corner, you will find the zoom icons. Use the + to zoom in, and the - to zoom out. You can also use the scroll on your mouse. A map interface showing zoom-in and zoom-out controls for navigation.

    • Hide the Legend: Use the toggle panel icon to hide and unhide the legend. This can free up visible space on the map when you have many layers in your legend. An icon representing layers, commonly used in design and mapping applications.

    • Measuring: Use the measure icon to measure a single distance or an area of the map. Icons showing a ruler and a triangle for measurement tools on a map interface.

    • Recenter the View: If you want to return to the start, default latitude and longitude, click the Recenter the View icon. An icon representing a refresh action with circular arrows indicating data update.
