This article will show you how to filter content, share articles, and manage notifications in the News Flash module using CivicPlus Mobile.

Apply Filters in the News Flash Module

  1. Tap the News Flash icon: Open book icon on the News Flash button.

  2. Tap the Filters icon: Filters icon in the top right corner of the News Flash page.

  3. Select your desired filters: Filters for News Flash categories.

  4. Tap Apply to apply your filters and see the News Flash items you have selected: Apply button in the bottom right corner of the news filters.

News Flash Push Notifications

This article will show you how to set up News Flash so that way people can subscribe for push notifications.

  1. Log in to your Web Central site as a backend user

  2. Modify the applicable News Flash category

  3. Set the permission level to Owner for CPMobile API at the module level (Can also be done at the category level as well)User permissions table showing selected options for CPMobile API.

  4. Make sure the settings for Email List and Allow Subscribers are set for Yes, or else it will not load on the app Settings options for allowing subscribers, SMS, and email list management.

  5. Open the app on your mobile device and click the gear icon. Settings gear icon in the top right corner of the page.

  6. Click the dropdown for News Flash and you should now see your news category listed on the app for push notifications. News Flash option on the settings page.

Share a News Flash Article

  1. Tap the News Flash icon: Open book icon on the News Flash button.

  2. Apply filters, if necessary

  3. Select your desired article: Select a news article.

  4. Tap the share icon: The Share icon in the top right corner of a news article page.

  5. Select your desired share method and complete your message
