Authorize.net Credentials for EMV (Card-Present) Transactions

In order for CivicPlus Payments to talk to Authorize.net, we need to have user credentials.

Instructions

  1. In Authorize.net navigate to User AdministrationUser administration option in the left navigation menu of Authorize.net

  2. Click on Add UserAdd user link.

  3. Select Transaction Manager or a higher role Transaction manager option in the User Role dropdown.

  4. Set User PermissionsUser Permissions screen with Create Charge Transactions option highlighted.

    Note:

    You will only need the Create charge transaction permission

  5. Click NextNext button under the User Permissions fields.

  6. Fill in User Information fields user information fields.

    • Login ID: Choose a Login ID that is unique and appropriate for your situation. This login ID will need to be given to CivicPlus in a later step.

    • First and Last Name: Add the first and last name of the user

    • Title (Optional): List the user's title

    • Phone and Extension: Add a phone number for the user

    • Mobile (Optional): List a mobile phone number

    • Email Address: Enter a valid email address so that you can activate the user

  7. After filling out the form, click SubmitAdd User fields and submit button.

  8. Click Request PIN to verify your identity Request a Pin screen.

  9. Enter PIN that was sent to you and click Verify PIN Enter PIN and Verify.

  10. You should receive a message saying that your identity has been verified Identity Verified screen.

  11. The user should have received an email to activate their account. If the user does not activate the account, you will not be able to take card-present transactions. Activation email example.

  12. When the user gets their activation email, they will be prompted to Request PINRequest pin button on the verify your identity popup.

  13. They should enter the PIN and click Verify PINVerify Pin button on the Check Your Email popup.

  14. The user should enter their password and click ActivateCreate Your Password fields.

  15. You should now see the user back in the User Administration section of Authorize.net as ActiveThe Active Status column next to a user.

  16. The username and password for this account should be provided to CivicPlus for use to enable your card-present transactions.
