{{SEND_DATE))
Dear Valued Customer,
We appreciate your continued business. As a result of company growth and a recent nexus audit, we have recognized the need to collect sales tax in your location. To comply with this requirement, CivicPlus will begin collecting sales tax as of {{date}} on sales of certain taxable products and services sold in your state.
Our records indicate that you are currently utilizing a service or product deemed taxable in your state. Please follow the instructions below to complete and upload an exemption certificate to our Accounting and Compliance team as soon as possible to ensure that sales tax is not applied to future invoices. A single certificate can be applied to all products and services you are utilizing with CivicPlus.
No further action is required if you do not qualify for sales tax exemption in your state.
How to Supply Your Exemption Certificate to CivicPlus Using Avalara CertExpress
Here is a link to the CivicPlus, LLC exemption certificate management tool, Avalara CertExpress. Please complete the required fields and follow the instructions to submit the certificate, including your tax exemption ID number. Per the recommendation of our tax advisors, an FEIN will not be sufficient evidence of tax exemption. In the case of an audit, we must be able to produce your tax exemption ID number as issued by your governing state.
Avalara CertExpress is a secure transaction tool, and the information you supply will only be used for exemption certificate purposes.
Please note: If your administration maintains multiple contracts with CivicPlus, you may receive multiple follow-up emails from the Avalara system. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
To submit a new exemption certificate, please click this link or use the following request code on the CertExpress Website:
Link: {{CERTEXPRESS_ADDRESS_WITH_CODE}}
Avalara CertExpress Website: {{CERTEXPRESS_ADDRESS}}
Request Code: {{CERTEXPRESS_REQUEST_CODE}}
Failure to provide tax exemption certification may result in being charged sales tax on future invoices. Again, no further action is required if you do not qualify for sales tax exemption in your state.
If you have any questions or need technical assistance, please contact us at cvptax@civicplus.com or 888.228.2233.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
CivicPlus, LLC
