Contact List Upload and Download

This article will show you how to upload contacts from a file and export your contacts as a spreadsheet.

Contact List Upload

Multiple contacts can be created/updated at once using the Import Contacts tool. Contacts must be in a properly formatted spreadsheet (.CSV, .XLS, .XLSX, and .TXT file types are supported). Likewise, new or existing contacts can be added to groups in bulk from here as well.

Important Notes

  • If you wish to import addresses with your contacts and want to be able to select those individuals using the mapping tool for geo-targeting alerts, please contact Support.

  • If the file you plan to upload contains existing contacts, ensure that you have their correct contact information in the file to avoid duplicate user creation. Existing users are found/matched based on email or phone numbers.

  • If contacts and admins are managed through one of our automated or FTP upload processes, the Contact List Upload feature should not be utilized.

  • Groups must be created prior to using the Contact List Upload tool if you wish to import contacts to a group. For information on how to create groups, view the Add a Public Group and Add an Internal Group articles.
