This article will show you how to create, answer, and review polls using the CivicReady mobile app for CivicPlus’ Mass Notification system.
Create and Send a Poll
Users can create and send individual poll questions to contacts and groups.
Ensure you are logged into the CivicReady app
Tap the drawer menu

Tap Send Poll

Note:
You can also bypass the drawer menu by selecting the Quick Action Send Poll button on the app home screen.

Tap the Select Template field to apply a pre-existing template to this poll, if desired

Select a template

Tap Ok on the New Template pop-up

Note:
Selecting a template will return you to the Create Poll form and auto-populate the fields shown in the steps below.
Tap the Recipients field to select poll recipients

Select a recipient directory type

Internal Directory: View internal (staff) contacts and groups
Public Directory: View public (resident) contacts and groups
Select Add Contacts to add specific contacts as recipients, or select Add Groups to add recipients that are part of pre-existing groups

Select the circle next to each group or contact that you would like to add to the poll

Note:
To see users within a group, navigate through the group structure to preview and select individuals within the list of members.

Tap Done to preview all groups and contacts that have been added to the poll

Repeat steps 2 through 4 as necessary
Tap the back arrow to return to the recipient directory screen

Repeat steps 1 through 6 as necessary
Tap the back arrow to return to the Create Poll form

Tap the Delivery Method field to select the methods that will be used to distribute the poll

Select the desired delivery methods

Note:
Toggle the Use default delivery settings option off to make changes to greyed-out settings.
Tap Cancel to make no changes and return to the Create Poll form, or tap Save to save any new selections and return to the Create Poll form

Note:
The Save option will appear greyed out if you have not made any changes.
Enter a subject for the poll in the Subject field

Note:
The poll subject can be typed using the keyboard or dictated using your device's microphone.
Add a question to the poll in the Enter Poll Question

Note:
Poll questions can be typed using the keyboard or dictated using your device's microphone.
Tap the Poll Responses field to enter possible responses for the poll

Enter a Poll Response

Note:
Poll responses can be typed using the keyboard or dictated using your device's microphone.
Tap Next on your keyboard

Repeat steps 1 and 2 as needed
Note:
You must enter at least 2 but no more than 5 poll responses for the poll question.
Tap Save to return to the Create Poll form

Tap Next

Preview the poll

Tap Send

Your poll has been sent
Respond to a Poll
Users can respond to polls within the Mass Notifications system app.
Ensure you are logged into the CivicReady app
Tap the desired poll in the Active Alerts list on the app home screen

Note:
You can also view your Active Alerts by navigating to the drawer menu and selecting Alerts Received.

Select a poll response

Note:
You can only respond to a poll one time.
Tap Confirm on the Confirmation pop-up

Note:
Tap Change to return to the poll and make another selection.
Tap Ok on the Poll Response Sent Successfully! pop-up window

Your poll response has been recorded
Review Poll Results
Poll senders can review the total count for each response option.
Ensure you are logged into the CivicReady app
Tap the drawer menu

Tap Communication Sent

Select the desired poll

Review the total count for each response option

To view who responded to each option, tap the option to view more details.

Communicate with Poll Respondents
Poll senders can communicate with response groups through secure chat or by creating an alert.
Ensure you are logged into the CivicReady app
Tap the drawer menu

Tap Communication Sent

Select the desired poll

Tap Secure Chat (chat bubble icon) to send secure messages to the poll sender, all poll recipients, or others

Or tap Send Alert (arrow icon) to create and send an alert to all poll recipients
