Backup Approvers Overview

Backup Approvers can approve agenda items for another user. This helps keep the approval process moving when an approver is out of the office or cannot review items.

A user can assign one or more Backup Approvers to approve on their behalf. A Backup Approver can also help more than one user. Backup Approvers can be active all the time or only during certain dates.

When an item is ready for approval, Backup Approvers can receive the same email notification as the primary approver. The primary approver must turn on the “Send Approval Notification to Backup Approvers” email setting for this to happen. However, items waiting for backup approval do not appear on the Backup Approver's dashboard.

Agenda Managers can also approve items on behalf of approvers and manage Backup Approver assignments for other users when needed.
