Manage Backup Approvers for Another User

This article will show you how to manage Backup Approvers for another user. Backup Approvers help users approve assigned items if they are unable to.

Important Note

Only users with an Administrator classification can create backup approvers for other users.

Add a Backup Approver for Another User

  1. Sign in to your solution if you have not already

  2. Navigate to the User Menu, then select the Settings option:The User Menu with the Settings option highlighted.

  3. Click the User and Global Settings tile:The User and Global Settings tile.

  4. Click the Users tile:The Users tile with a person icon.

  5. Click the Edit tool (purple pencil icon) to the right of the name of the user with the password that needs to be changed:The Edit tool to the right of an example user.

  6. Scroll to the Meetings section:The Meetings section on the User Details page.

  7. Navigate to the My Backup Approvers section and click the Add My Backup Approver button:The white, rectangular Add My Backup Approver button which appears to the right of the My Backup Approvers header.

  8. Click the Approver field and choose a backup approver from the dropdown list:The Approver dropdown.

  9. Select the duration of approver abilities:The Backup Approver duration options.

    • Always: Grant approver abilities immediately and indefinitely

    • Specific Dates: Grant approver abilities temporarily within a specific date range

    • Disabled: Revoke approver abilities

  10. Click the Add Backup Approver button:The green, rectangular Add Backup Approvers button in the lower-right corner of the Backup Approvers modal.

Edit a Backup Approver for Another User

  1. Sign in to your solution if you have not already

  2. Navigate to the User Menu, then select the Settings option:The User Menu with the Settings option highlighted.

  3. Click the User and Global Settings tile:The User and Global Settings tile.

  4. Click the Users tile:The Users tile with a person icon.

  5. Click the Edit tool (purple pencil icon) to the right of the name of the user with the password that needs to be changed:The Edit tool to the right of an example user.

  6. Scroll to the Meetings section:The Meetings section on the User Details page.

  7. Navigate to the My Backup Approvers section and click the Edit tool (purple pencil icon) next to the approver you wish to edit:The Backup Approver Edit button to the right of an example backup approver.

  8. Click the Approver field and choose a backup approver from the dropdown list, if desired:The Approver dropdown.

  9. Select the duration of approver abilities:The Backup Approver duration options.

    • Always: Grant approver abilities immediately and indefinitely

  10. Click the Save Changes button:The green, rectangular Save Changes button in the lower-right corner of the Backup Approvers modal.

Delete a Backup Approver for Another User

  1. Sign in to your solution if you have not already

  2. Navigate to the User Menu, then select the Settings option:The User Menu with the Settings option highlighted.

  3. Click the User and Global Settings tile:The User and Global Settings tile.

  4. Click the Users tile:The Users tile with a person icon.

  5. Click the Edit tool (purple pencil icon) to the right of the name of the user with the password that needs to be changed:The Edit tool to the right of an example user.

  6. Scroll to the Meetings section:The Meetings section on the User Details page.

  7. Navigate to the My Backup Approvers section and click the Delete button (red trash can icon) next to the approver you wish to delete:The Backup Approver Delete button to the right of an example backup approver.

  8. Click the Delete Backup Approvers button on the Delete Backup Approvers popup that appears to confirm the deletion:The red, rectangular Delete Backup Approvers button on the Delete Backup approvers popup message.

  9. The backup approver has been deleted
