CivicPlus® provides an Accessibility Checker for the content located in the Editor, FAQs, and News Flash widgets to ensure it complies with the ADA.

Instructions

  1. Sign in to your Web Central website using your CivicPlus Single Sign-On account: By signing in through CivicPlus' Single Sign-On, you can access all of your CivicPlus solutions through one account.

    Note: You can also sign in using a third-party email.

  2. Navigate to the desired page

  3. Click the Live Edit feature to enable it: When Web Central's Live Edit featured is On, an staff user can make changes to the pages on their website.

  4. Select the Widgets tab from the Live Edit pane: While the Live Edit feature is On, the Live Edit Pane is accessible, allowing the user more options to make changes to a page.

    Note: The Live Edit pane can be anchored on the left, right, or bottom of the page by using the change orientation button.

  5. Select the Editor Widget: The Editor Widget allows a user to make any changes using a Froala editor to add images, text, and other content.

  6. Drag the Editor Widget and drop it onto the page: The Editor Widget can be dragged across the page and dropped into an editable area, indicated by a dotted outline.

  7. Add content to the Editor Widget

  8. Click the Done Editing button (green box with a checkmark) to exit the Editor Widget: When you are done editing the content in the Editor Widget, the Done Editing button can be located next to the Editor Widget.

  9. An ADA scan message should appear automatically with the results of the accessibility scan: A message with the Accessibility Scan pops up with it's results. If there are some errors that should be fixed will be listed with a More Information button to get more detailed information.

    • If the pop-up message does not display automatically, click on the editor and select the Accessibility Checker button: Web Central's Accessibility Checker is located on the Editor Widget's tool bar, represented by a person button.

  10. If needed, continue to edit the page

  11. Click the Save button in the upper-right corner of the page: The Save button can be used to save any changes made to the page.
