Add Images to Public Images

This article will show you how to add images to Public Images (formerly Public Assets).

Who can use this feature?

System Administrator | Owner | Publisher | Author

Important Notes:

  • Load time will increase as more images are added to a single folder. It is recommended that you refrain from putting all images within a single folder to avoid long load times.

  • All images uploaded to Public Images are compressed to reserve server resources.

  • The maximum image dimensions allowed are 2600 by 2600 px.

Instructions

  1. Sign in to your website

  2. Navigate to the Modules menu and on the Content tab, select the Document Center option Modules menu, Document Center.

  3. Select the Public Images tab Public Images.

  4. Select the folder you wish to add your image to An example images folder.

  5. Click the Add Image(s) button Add image(s) button.

  6. Either drag and drop your image(s) or navigate through your computer's File Explorer to select the desired image(s) The upload field on the Document Center Upload Images dialog box.

  7. Click the Continue button Continue button.

  8. Configure the image fields Various Images fields.

    • Upload Additional Images(s): Click to upload more images

    • Display Name: Change the display name of the image

    • Alt (Alternative) text: Descriptive text for accessibility and will appear or be read to those who cannot see an image

    • Description: If needed, add a brief description of the image

    • From/To: If applicable, set a start and end date for when the image should display

    • Hide this document from search: This will be checked automatically for images; uncheck if you wish the image to show in search

    • This image contains text: Check to indicate that the image contains text. This option is only available for initial uploads. The image will not be compressed as much as it would if the image did not contain text.

    • Decorative Image: Decorative Images will use null alt text (alt=""). Only check this option for images that don’t add information to the content of a page and can be ignored by assistive technologies.

  9. Click the Save button to save the image to the system, or click the Save and Publish button to save the image and publish it to your website The Save and Save and Publish buttons.
