Create a Banner That Fits the CivicSend Template

This article will show you how to create a banner that fits the template.

Instructions

  1. Sign in to your site

  2. Navigate to Modules > Content > CivicSendNavigate from Modules to Content then to CivicSend.

  3. In the default New Message screen, enter a brief, descriptive Subject heading Descriptive Subject heading box.

  4. Select your desired Channel(s) Select your Channel option.

    • Email: Message will send via email

    • SMS/Text: Message will send via text/SMS

    • Facebook: The message will post to your Facebook page

      Note:

      A pop-up window will appear and prompt you to sign in. You will not select your specific Facebook page information until later. Facebook sign in pop-up.

    • Twitter: The message will post to your Twitter feed

      Note:

      A pop-up window will appear and prompt you to sign in. You will not select your specific Twitter account information until later. Sign in with twitter.

  5. Ensure you indicate the Message Type as a Template Template message types.

  6. Click Continue Continue button.

  7. Select Flexible Template with BannerFlexible template with banner.

  8. Note the dimensions needed for the banner The banner dimensions are 580 pixels wide by 525 pixels tall.

  9. Open your preferred Photo Editing Application (Photoshop, BeFunky.com, Microsoft Paint, and so on.)

    Note:

    For this example, we will use Microsoft's Paint Application.

  10. Choose the Resize button Microsoft paint resize button.

  11. A Resize and Skew options box will open; ensure to change the items in the following order Microsoft paint resize and skew window.

    1. Resize By: Select Pixels

    2. Maintain aspect ratio: Uncheck

    3. Horizontal: Set to 580

    4. Vertical: Set to 525

  12. Paste in your logo or any other graphic ensuring that they are all resized to fit within that canvas area you just set up

  13. Select Save As: JPEG picture to a location where you can easily find it when uploading in CivicSend Microsoft paint file to save as JPEG picture.

  14. Navigate back to the template in CivicSend, double-click on the banner to upload the image you created Image options window.

  15. Fill in the information fields for the Image Options Image options fields.

    • Alternate Text: Add an alternate text for ADA compliance

    • Caption: Add a caption; this is optional

    • Link: Add a link for the image; this is optional

    • Open in new window: This will open the link in a new window; this is optional

  16. Select SaveImage options save button.

  17. Finish the message
