Disable HTTPS by Default (Always SSL)

This article will show you how to disable HTTPS by Default.

This setting controls whether all pages use ‘Always SSL by Default’. You should not select this setting unless the Mixed Content Reports show no concerns. If available, this will take effect immediately. If unavailable, please contact your Customer Success Manager.

Who can use this feature?

System Administrator

Important Note:

  • Redirect Domain: These domains are secondary domains the customer has on their account and will be sent to the Primary SSL Domain when Enable Always SSL is turned on.

  • Unsafe Redirects: These are items in the Redirects module that need to have their destinations as HTTPS, otherwise they will be broken. View our Modify a Redirect article for more information.

Instructions

  1. Sign in to your site

  2. Navigate to the Site Properties module:The Site Properties option of the Site Tools tab in the Modules drop-down menu.

    1. Expand the Modules menu

    2. Select the Site Tools tab

    3. Click Site Properties

  3. Select the Mixed Content Reports tab:The Site Properties page with the Mixed Content Report tab highlighted.

  4. Locate and click the Disable Always SSL button:The Mixed Content Report page Always SSL section with the Disable Always SSL button highlighted.

  5. On the pop-up message that says "Traffic will no longer be forced to use HTTPS. Are you sure?", click the OK button:A confirmation pop-up from clicking the Disable Always SSL button with the OK button highlighted.
