Find the Accessibility Checker in the Editor Widget

This article will show you how to find the Accessibility Checker on the Editor. If you want the tool to check automatically every time, contact Support to turn that functionality on.

Important Note:

  • This feature is only available in the Editor Widget

  • CivicPlus works toward WCAG 2.0 AA accessibility standards and our websites are highly compliant when they go live. However, ongoing ADA compliance and maintenance is the customer's responsibility.

Instructions

  1. Sign in to your website solution

  2. Navigate to your desired page and ensure Live Edit is On Web Central Live edit is on.png

  3. Click inside the Editor Widget with the content you want to check with the Accessibility Checker When the Editor widget is clicked, the user can make updates or use the editor's tools to review the content.

  4. Select the Accessibility Checker (person) icon The Accessibility Checker reviews the Editor widget's content for compliance with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA).

    Note: If there are errors, an Accessibility Scan Results pop-up will list the error(s).When an error is found by the Accessibility Checker, a message will pop up for the user to understand where the error was found.

  5. Select More Information to learn more about the error and how to fix it. At this time, this link opens in the same window. It is recommended to right-click and select to open in a new window. The More Information link can be used to find our more information about the errors listed in the Accessibility Scan Results message.
