Released Enhancements

CivicSend Now Supports Canadian SMS Messaging (Reference 426):

Enables CivicSend users to send SMS messages to Canadian phone numbers, expanding communication reach for organizations with Canadian subscribers.

News Flash Enhancement - Default Image by Category (Reference 1065):

Staff can now assign a default image to each News category. When populated, any new news items created in that category (including those created with Integration Hub) will automatically inherit the category’s default image. The category image field includes helpful guidance, image upload support, and an alignment option with a default setting of Align Right.

Manual Link Style Selection in Editor (Reference 393):

Content editors can now manually choose between internal and external link styles when inserting links using the Editor. This gives greater control over link presentation and helps clearly communicate link behavior to website visitors.

Accessibility Enhancement - Main Navigation Expand/Collapse Indicator Added (Reference 1465):

Top-level items in the main navigation now display a visual indicator to show whether a menu is expanded or collapsed. This makes the navigation structure easier to understand at a glance and improves usability for both mouse and keyboard users. The indicator updates automatically as menus are opened or closed, supporting more accessible and intuitive navigation.

Accessibility Enhancement - Main Navigation with Sub-Menu Indicators (Reference 1466):

Dropdown menus in the main navigation now consistently display expand/collapse indicators. This ensures visitors can easily identify which menu items contain submenus and clearly understand their current expanded or collapsed state, improving overall navigation clarity and accessibility.

Accessibility Enhancement - Keyboard Focus Removed from Hidden Slideshow Slides (Reference 1503):

Inactive slideshow slides now have all focusable elements removed from the keyboard tab order. Only the currently visible slide can receive keyboard focus, ensuring users do not tab into hidden or out-of-sequence content. This update improves keyboard navigation, aligns with accessibility best practices, and eliminates focus-related warnings from automated accessibility testing tools.

Accessibility Enhancement - Slideshow State Changes Programmatically Exposed (Reference 1504):

Slideshow components now clearly communicate active and inactive states to assistive technologies. Inactive slides are programmatically hidden from the accessibility tree, while only the currently active slide is exposed and announced by screen readers. This ensures users of assistive technologies can accurately understand which banner is active and interact only with visible, relevant content.
