Released Enhancements
Recurring Events Can Now be Imported
The Calendar Module import feature now supports recurring events, including options for daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly frequencies, along with configurable recurrence ranges. This enhancement streamlines bulk event creation and reduces manual entry, improving efficiency for content editors managing large or historical datasets.
Duplicate Accessible Label in Search Input
We improved the search input so it now presents a single, clear, accessible label to screen reader users. This removes repeated announcements, making the search field easier to understand and helping support WCAG 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value requirements.
My Forms Control Now Identifies as a Link
The “My Forms” control at the beginning of primary content now uses link semantics to better match its behavior. This helps assistive technology users understand that activating it will take them to a new page, improving clarity and supporting WCAG 1.3.1 Info and Relationships.
Sidebar Navigation Toggle Labels Simplified
Sidebar navigation toggle controls now use concise, non-redundant labels, with expanded/collapsed state communicated via ARIA attributes. This update improves clarity for screen reader users and supports WCAG 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value by ensuring controls are announced accurately and efficiently.
Splash Modal Focus Order Improved
Updated the splash modal to prevent non-interactive container elements from receiving keyboard focus, ensuring only actionable elements are included in the tab order. This creates a more logical and efficient navigation experience for keyboard and assistive technology users, supporting WCAG 2.4.3 Focus Order.
Splash Modal Heading Structure Added
The splash modal now includes a properly defined H2 heading for its title to ensure semantic structure is conveyed to assistive technologies. This improvement helps users better understand the modal’s content hierarchy and supports WCAG 1.3.1 Info and Relationships.
Tabbed Widget Focus Visibility and Contrast Improved
Enhanced tabbed widgets to include a clear, visible focus indicator and improved contrast for tab labels, with underlining used as a non-color visual cue. This ensures better visibility during keyboard navigation and meets WCAG requirements for Focus Visible and Color Contrast, improving accessibility across varying user settings.
Accordion Menu Keyboard Accessibility Restored
Updated the accordion menu to fully support keyboard navigation and ensure content is properly announced by assistive technologies. This resolves issues with screen readers entering forms mode and restores access to all menu content, supporting WCAG 2.1.1 Keyboard.
Pages Widget Menu Roles Aligned with Link Behavior
Updated the main pages menu to use appropriate link semantics so each item is correctly identified and navigable as an individual link by assistive technologies. This ensures consistent behavior and improves keyboard and screen reader navigation, supporting WCAG 2.1.1 Keyboard.
