Some sections in the reports may look broken. This happens because the sample data from the Google Analytics Demo account does not include all the data CivicPlus provides. Once your site's data is connected to the report, the tables should fill in correctly, since your site has the specific data needed. You can delete tables or change the data to fit your site. Please note that these reports may take a moment to load the first time you click the links.

It is important to note that data for Google Analytics is not pulled retroactively. Additionally, if the page is not a DHP, the page section option should be selected.

Watch how to use these reports with your site data, and read an explanation of the different reports.

  • Website Analytics Dashboard allows for customized date ranges for the entire report. This report includes an overview of users, device and browser type, top 10 search terms and page views, and location of users' document downloads from the Agenda Center, Archive Center, and Document Center.

  • Content Pageviews will display the URL, page title, and the number of views. The report also allows for a customized date range for the entire report.

  • Document Downloads details downloads of documents from the Agenda Center, Archive Center, and Document Center.

  • Link and Button Clicks shows what page users are on when they click specific links and buttons, and where those links take them.

  • Department and Page Section Pageviews includes one page for department header pageviews and one page for page section pageviews. You can filter by Department Header Name or Page Section Tracker Name on each page, and set a date range.

    Note:

Due to Google Analytics 4's reporting structure, these filters require viewing the pageview event-by-event count, not the basic pageview.

  • Add a Data Source to make sure that the correct analytics are being checked.

You can copy any of these reports. Use the built-in filters for Department Headers or Page Sections, if the report has them. Save the report to keep tracking these specific parts of your website.

If you copy a template for the first time, you may need to add your site as a Data Source.

When copying a template, control fields may change unexpectedly. Learn how to update the controls on your report.
