Add a Search Widget to a Page

  1. Sign in to your website solution

  2. Navigate to your desired page

  3. Click on the Widgets tab and drag and drop the Search widget onto your pageWidgets section with the Search widget highlighted and added to the page.

  4. If desired, add Helper Text that will display inside the search box and will disappear after someone starts typingWidget options menu showing search appearance and helper text customization.

  6. Configure the Search Options

    • Header Text: Enter the desired header text for the Search Widget

    • Content Types Available: Manually select content types that will be available in the search results

    • Included Asset Types: Choose to include or exclude Images, PDFs, and Other Files (like Word or Excel documents) from your site search.

      Note:

      By default, only PDFs are included, but you can adjust these options as needed. If no asset types are selected, no assets will appear in search results, giving you full flexibility over search behavior.

  7. Click the Done buttonThe Done button on the search widget page.

  8. Click the Save Changes button at the top of the page to save the page versionSave icon.


Enable Content Types in Search Results

Selecting content types in the Content Types Available field allows users to narrow down search results based on content types from the HCMS.

  1. Sign in to your site

  2. Navigate to the page with the Search widget

  3. Click on the Search widget on the page

  4. Click Search Options

  5. In the Content Types Available field, select content types to include in the search results

  6. Click Done
    The Done button on the search widget page.

  7. Click Save
    Save icon.
