Container Inheritance

Container Inheritance allows you to have the same format on multiple pages and only have to change it in one place. The main page is called the parent page, while the subpages are called child pages. The option is usually found in the footer of a page when selecting the container.

Set Container Inheritance

  1. Sign in to your site

  2. Navigate to your desired page

  3. Hover over the desired container and click the Container Inheritance Options/Lock button The Container Lock Icon on the left-hand edge of the container, towards the top.

  4. Select Subpages of this page inherit this container's widgets The second radio button option in the pop-up box labeled Container Inheritance.

    Note: You may not receive a pop-up asking to save changes. In this case, inheritance has been set.

  5. Click Save Changes and Set InheritanceThe top button labeled Save Changes and Set Inheritance.

Stop Container Inheritance

  1. Sign in to your site

  2. Navigate to your desired page

  3. Hover over the desired container and click the Container Inheritance Options/Lock button The Container Lock Icon on the left-hand edge of the container, towards the top corner.

  4. Click Stop Inheritance The button labeled Stop Inheritance.
