Best Practice

  • Place Important Information and Action Items at the Top: Crucial navigation elements and content that calls users to action should be at the top of every page. Longer pages are acceptable, as long as it is clear there is more content below.

    • Reasoning: With many different device sizes in use today, there is no longer an ideal screen size. Different devices display web pages at varying sizes. Users may miss information if it is not easily accessible at the top of the page. See Responsive Web Design for more information about adapting websites to fit multiple devices.
