Scholarships can be established within the system to allocate funds to eligible public Users. Scholarships will apply automatically at checkout if users are choosing to sign up for an eligible program.

When to Use

An example use of Pre-Funded scholarships can include:

  • Scholarships funded by the park department Scholarships from Donation opportunities established by your department Scholarships from other outside parties and organizations

An example use of Post Billed scholarships can include:

  • Funds that are not given directly to the department but will be invoiced to another organization

How to Apply

While learning how to utilize Scholarships, you may experience areas where you have questions. If you have any questions or run into issues, please keep track of each so your CivicPlus representative may address them.

Please complete the following:

  • Create a Scholarship Payment Type

  • Build the appropriate scholarship type that you need

  • Practice allocating funds to a test Account

  • Assign Class Restrictions and the percentage of funds that can be utilized

  • Perform a test transaction to ensure that the funds are properly being applied at checkout


FAQ

Can Scholarship funds be applied to rentals?

No. Currently, the Recreation Management solution only allows scholarship funds to be applied to programs.

What if we do not use an allocated Scholarship System? What alternatives to scholarships can be used?

A combination of Account Flags and Discounts can be used as an alternative to a Pre-Funded or Post-Billed Scholarship. Please review our help center documentation about Scholarship Alternatives.

How can customers view their scholarship allocations?

The organization option “Show Scholarship Funds on Public Dashboard” allows for customers to view their allocations. Please review our help center documentation about Showing Scholarship Funds on the Public Dashboard.
